Store Openings

UNH Computer Store frequently has openings for Sales, Sales Support, and Inventory Staff.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must have customer service work experience and must have personal computer experience and knowledge. Applicants must be able to quickly learn our POS system and relevant UNH Computer Store procedures for the position he or she will fill.

Applicants must be current or returning (if over summer) UNH students. Work study is strongly desired, but not required. In order to maintain the rapidly-changing knowledge required in this field, applicants must be able to work at least ten hours a week during the academic year. In addition, all applicants must be able to work during the summer and must be able to work during Move-In Weekend.

If hired, new employees must consent to a background check, and continued employment is contingent upon the results.

Positions


Sales Consultants are responsible for pre-sale consulting and post-sale support for customers. Sales consultants discuss purchases with customers, ring up sales, and answer phones. Other tasks include maintaining and stocking the store, updating marketing materials and signs, and projects as assigned. Prior retail experience and/or experience selling electronics and computer products desired.

Sales Support Staff perform extensive data entry, which means accuracy and attention to detail are extremely important. They also maintain our price lists and create flyers and signs using Adobe InDesign. Other tasks include restocking the store, clearing voice mail, assisting our buyer with various daily tasks, and a variety of store-related projects including product research.

Inventory Staff must be able to lift up to 50 lbs., and must be organized and accurate in receiving, labeling, and picking orders. Previous inventory work experience is a plus. Applicants must have a good driving record, as making deliveries to campus departments in UNH Computer Store vehicles is a daily task. Inventory staff mainly work at our 1 Leavitt Lane loading dock, close to the West Edge Lot and may need to take the West Edge bus for transportation to work.

Some positions may receive cross-training in other areas for back-up.
